Dr. Dana Anthony Yip is a different kind of dentist. With his creativity and positive nature, he gets children involved and excited about their dental care. For the past eight years, Dr. Yip has been honored to be voted Top Pediatric Dentist in Portland Monthly Magazine.
After graduating from high school as class valedictorian, Dr. Yip earned double bachelors degrees in Biology and Art at Rice University in Texas. In college, he started a tutoring service for children and teenagers. He then pursued his doctorate at the University of Texas Health Science Center that was ranked "Number One" dental school by US News and World Report magazine. After graduating Magna Cum Laude, he moved north to the University of Minnesota, where he received his Masters in Oral Sciences and Pediatric specialty. This rare designation is earned by fewer than 3% of all dentists. Dr. Yip's love of the outdoors drew him to the Pacific Northwest.

the highest standard of care possible for young children. Not only does he provide this care at his office,
but also in the community. Dr. Yip and his assistant donated much needed dental care for low-income children
last year at a free clinic for kids last year. The parents were very appreciative and impressed with the high
quality and gentle treatment the children received. Laurie Kelly, RDH,

Yip was very patient with my daughter, it was her first time. She's 3 years
old. She was scared coming in, but left with a smile and happy! S.K., Lake Oswego Mother My
son has disabilities and I never thought he would be able to have dental
wotk without being knocked out. Dr. Yip is great with him, and we had a
wonderfully successful visit. J.M., Oregon City Mother I just can't say enough positive things about Dr.

staff. Dr. Yip's gentle manner, thoughtfulness, patience, and respect for a parent's opinion, as well as his thorough explanation for
treatment reasons are a rare quality and very appreciated. Dr. Yip's staff is absolutely delightful, energetic and great with kids. Dr.
Yip and his staff help a child to feel comfortable and at ease, creating a warm, safe and friendly environment that kids want to return to.
Dr. Yip offers parents dental treatment options as well as a wide variety of entertainment options including; video games, television,
toys, and games. His concern for a child and parent's comfortability is obvious as well as his promotion of preventative treatment and the
least intrusive treatments as first priority. The Kids' Dentist now offers, as a routine component, digital x-rays which are 1/3 less
radiation. As a parent, I truly appreciate and am thankful to have such a wonderful resource in Dr. Yip who shares my concerns for my
child's long term health and well being. C.M., Portland Mother Our family has gone to the Kids' Dentist since our children first started getting dental care. We asked around and everyone
kept saying, "Go to Dr. Yip", so we did. WE LOVE IT THERE! Dr. Yip and his staff are very sensitive in working with young kids. Both of our
boys (ages 3 and 5) get nervous for things like this, but the staff at the Kids' Dentist know how to make little ones feel at home in the
rainforest themed office. The staff know how to use positive child-centered encouragement, stickers and little reward toys to break up the visit
into manageable chunks for kids, going from x-ray to cleaning and polishing to the check up and consultation with Dr. Yip. They let
your child sit where they are comfortable, whether that is on your lap or in the dental chair. Dr. Yip has even done my younger son's
whole exam while my son sat on the back of a large stuffed animal because he knew my son would be just distracted enough by the fun that
he would forget to be scared! There is an alcove right off of the area with the dental chairs that has a big screen TV with video games
for older kids, as well. Last time we were there, they had just installed a flat screen TV in front of each exam chair which really helped
our kids to relax and focus on some cartoons during their cleaning and polishing. The expertise they have in working with kids is very much
appreciated, but from an adult perspective, there are many things that I really like about the office. The office is organized and runs
very smoothly. When your appointment is for 9:00, you are seen right at 9:00. The front reception room is beautiful, complete with
computers with internet access, games for kids, and a bar full of healthy drinks and coffee. But, to be honest, I have never had to spend
more than 5 minutes in the waiting room because Dr. Yip is always right on time. They have really come through for us in an emergency, too.
When my youngest son chipped his front tooth on his bed's metal guardrail, I called the office and the receptionist told me to come right
in, and we were being seen by Dr. Yip within minutes of the incident. If you want your kids to have a great positive experience at the
dentist, go to the Kids' Dentist! K.C., West Linn Mother Dr. Yip has been a close
colleague of mine since 1994 and I have been referring patients to him since 2002. As a referring dentist,
I can contest that the parents and the kids that I have referred are greatful to have met him and love to
visit his office. He has a special gift when it comes to communicating with kids and their parents.
For example several kids I have sent over to Dr. Yip have been fearful of the dentist but after meeting with
him they get over their fears, have fun and cannot wait to go back to his office. Dr. Yip likes to take his
time with parents to carefully communicate their child's treatment. Furthermore, his skills as a dentist are
impeccable and he is always taking continuing education to keep his skills current with the latest techniques
and technology. I recommend him exclusively. Dr. Viseh Sundberg, General Dentist
I would like to write a testimonial for your website. Marina and Deanna have been just exceptional to work with. My son Sloan adores Marina and talks about her for days after treatment. Deanna has been so extremely helpful in helping me with the insurance and payment portion of my son's treatment plan. F.B., Portland Mother
Dr. Yip is an excellent pediatric dentist who has been my child's dentist for the past approx. 7 years. I appreciate the time Dr. Yip takes to be thorough and to communicate about my child's dental care and any concerns. Dr. Yip is a soft-spoken person who treats each child with personal attention. His kindness and technique help reduce any fears or anxiety a child may have in visiting a dentist. The office is designed in a safari theme with movies, toys, games, and fun things to look at from the ceiling to the floor. After a child's visit, they are offered several choices for rewards, which young children love. I have been very satisfied with The Kids' Dentist and highly recommend Dr. Yip for pediatric dental care. D.K., Oregon City Mom
After 41 years in education and as an administrator of education for over 30 years, I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the team of professionals who serve my grandchildren and their dental care. I use the term AND because Dr. Yip and his team (Morgan, Marina, Liz, Deanna and Ali) deal with the whole child. My grandson had a terrifying experience at a young age which resulted in his dentist phobia. Dr. Yip and his team worked with him for 3 years demonstrating patience, care and kindness. Yesterday, it brought tears to my eyes when he was able to sit in the chair for hours and participate in the dental treatment that was necessary to save several of his teeth. My grandson demonstrated a renewed self-esteem in that he was able to conquer his fears given the respect and trust that he experienced with Dr. Yip and staff. This is an experience he will remember for the rest of his life. The professional ability of this fine team is incomparable, but Dr. Yip and staff do not stop there. They were determined to assist my grandson achieve success knowing that this procedure not only hindered his medical health, but had a great influence on his own feeling of self. My grandchildren also want to write reviews on their dentist experiences but it will probably be oriented toward the atmosphere of fun and games. Yes. My grandchildren actually enjoy going to the dentist. I am so pleased and relieved. Thank you Dr. Yip! You are a professional in the truest sense of the word. D.B., West Linn Grandmother
